Serenity Editor is a light, fast web and desktop text editor with support for markdown shortcuts, WYSIWYG editing, exporting to markdown/HTML, and more. I created it as a replacement for editors like Google Docs because they are clunky and do not support markdown.
🍃Light, with a <5 MB installation size, and installation-less web app.
🚀Fast and able to handle large text, with more optimization like multi-threaded editing coming soon
🔰Simple and intuitive
🗒️Built-in support for markdown and HTML exporting
The PWA version of Serenity is the next generation of the app, available directly from the website, and from the Microsoft Store (soon). Using the PWA allows you to integrate extensions like Grammarly, is more secure, and has auto-updating. It also is very small, currently 1 MB for Windows 10 installations.
If you just want to try Serenity out, or you are worried about security, you can use the web app. It includes most of the same features as the desktop versions, and it is easy to start using the PWA from the website if you decide you want to.
A desktop version of the app for macOS, Linux, and Windows are available in GitHub releases. However, because of various problems, the Tauri app is now deprecated and you should not use it if you want the latest features.
