SvelteCiv

đŸ•šī¸ Core Game Loop

Explore → Move units → Settle cities → Grow economy → Control terrain → End turn

[!IMPORTANT] Scope Guard: If a feature does not directly strengthen this core loop, do not add it. This prevents scope death and keeps the gameplay focused.

đŸ›Ąī¸ Unit Roles (Immutable)

đŸŸĻ SCOUT — Information & Reach

  • Purpose: Exploration, vision, harassment.
  • Stats: mp: 4, atk: 1, def: 1, hp: 10, vision: 3, zoc: false, cost: 20 prod.
  • Forest Mastery: Ignores the first forest (FOR) movement penalty per turn (costs 1 MP instead of 2).
  • Fragility: Gains NO defense bonus from terrain.
  • Ghost Movement: Ignores Zone of Control (ZoC) penalties when passing through.

đŸŸĨ WARRIOR — Control & Force

  • Purpose: Defense, combat, zoning.
  • Stats: mp: 2, atk: 3, def: 3, hp: 15, vision: 2, zoc: true, cost: 40 prod.
  • Stalwart: Gains full defense bonuses from terrain (e.g., +2 in Forest).
  • Control: Exerts Zone of Control on 4 adjacent tiles. Entering a Warrior's ZoC costs +1 MP.

🟨 SETTLER — Expansion

  • Purpose: Found new cities.
  • Stats: mp: 2, atk: 0, def: 1, hp: 10, vision: 2, zoc: false, canSettle: true, cost: 70 prod.
  • Fragility: Extremely weak, must be protected.
  • Consumption: Consumed upon founding a city.

[!CAUTION] If a unit violates these roles, redesign the unit — never patch with abilities.

🔒 Scope Lock (Expansion & Production v1)

  • Start State: Player begins with exactly 1 Settler and 1 Scout. No cities.
  • Founding: Production is locked until the first city is founded.
  • Production: NO buildings. NO queues. Cities produce one unit at a time.
  • Unlocks: Founding the first city unlocks Scout, Warrior, and Settler production.
  • Loss Condition: No Settlers + No Cities = Game Over.

Project Setup

Everything you need to build a Svelte project, powered by sv.

Creating a project

If you're seeing this, you've probably already done this step. Congrats!

# create a new project in the current directory
npx sv create

# create a new project in my-app
npx sv create my-app

Developing

Once you've created a project and installed dependencies with npm install (or pnpm install or yarn), start a development server:

npm run dev

# or start the server and open the app in a new browser tab
npm run dev -- --open

Building

To create a production version of your app:

npm run build

You can preview the production build with npm run preview.

To deploy your app, you may need to install an adapter for your target environment.
